A shower of accolades for RCG-apprenticeships

  • The training team of the Rail Cargo Group has received no fewer than three awards in the last few weeks

  • Apprentices for the Forwarding Merchant apprenticeship required

Thanks to the ongoing further development of its training systems, the Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has ensured the attractiveness of its training places for future interested parties and is simultaneously benefiting from competent junior staff. Apprentices, trainers and training officers always tow the same line and for their outstanding achievements recently received several awards that underscore the internationality as well as the exemplary function and performance of the RCG apprentice training.

Triple award

For the "European Weeks for Apprentices" project, which has been running since 2013 and in 2015 received the "ÖBB Diversity Award", Federal Minister Harald Mahrer presented the European quality label "Excellent establishment for learning in Europe" to RCG at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economics. The award was presented this year for the first time and thus makes the RCG a trendsetter when it comes to the international set-up of apprenticeship systems.

The recent awarding of the INEO seal of quality to RCG as an exemplary training establishment proves that the company is continuing to focus on what really matters for the future. The INEO award stands for innovation, sustainability, commitment and orientation - those factors that young people use as decision-making criteria when selecting their training establishment and which are comprehensively met by RCB as an Austrian best-practice training establishment. The award was presented by the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce at a gala evening in Wels.

However, not only RCG but also the apprentices have succeeded in crowning their achievements. For example, alongside the RCG as a training establishment, Nadine Freidl, an RCG apprentice from Graz, was also awarded with the Styrian Chamber of Commerce "Stars of Styria Award" due to her excellent achievements both, during her training and following her final apprenticeship examination. The award ceremony was held at the Karl Franzens University Graz.

Apprentice intake 2018

For the apprentice intake scheduled to start in September 2018, the RCG is again scouring the federal territory for 30 new apprentices for the Forwarding Merchant apprenticeship. Candidates looking to embark on their career in the global logistics market can not only look forward to solid apprenticeship training, but also benefit from additional offers such as the RCG Language Academy, the RCG Europe Weeks and job rotation. Application information and documents can be found online on the "ÖBB Careers site".
