e-Cargo

  • What is e-Cargo?

    E-Cargo is a new electronic service that is available on our website and provides clear, comprehensive information about your freight shipment.

    • For recipients of freight shipments
      As a recipient of freight shipments, E-Cargo provides you with an overview of operational and available shipments. In addition, shipments can also be processed electronically with the click of a mouse (confirmation of receipt / delivery notification).
      For shipments that were handled without paper waybills, the original bill of lading can be printed out directly from your locally installed printer.
    • For forwarders and freight payers
      First, we provide both the forwarder and the freight payer of freight loads with information about the status of their shipments.

    Potential status notifications

    • Picked up at location
    • Departed at location
    • Arrived at location
    • Set down at location

    It is possible to view shipments using 4 tables

    • Estimated arrival (for recipient customers)
    • List of provisions (for recipient customers)
    • Historical data (for recipient customers)
    • Track & Trace (for consignors, consignor freight payers, recipient freight payers)

     

  • How can I use e-Cargo?

    The electronic services and information can be accessed directly via our website. Your personal log-in data gives you access to a user-friendly user interface. Your RCA system administrator will provide you with your log-in data (username, password).

  • What are the system requirements for using e-Cargo?

    No special system requirements are needed for using out service. The information can be accessed without installing anything else.

    You need:

    • an internet connection (all existing browsers are supported – full functionality cannot be guaranteed for older versions of Internet Explorer e.g. 7, 8, 9)
    • a PDF reader

     

  • Which parameters are crucial for displaying shipments?

    The customer number recorded in the waybill.

  • Who can print out original waybill documents?

    Original bills of lading can be printed by recipients of a shipment.

  • Which waybills can be printed?

    All shipments that were processed without paper waybills can be printed as original bills of lading (e-frachtbrief@) In addition, an order update / a copy can be printed for EVERY shipment, however they do not have the legal character of the original bill of lading.

  • What does the electronic discharge of a consignment entail?

    The electronic discharge is the delivery notification / confirmation of receipt in electronic form. It does not affect the right to lodge a complaint, the loading period or operating times.

  • Which Java Runtime Environment needs to be installed?

    The application has been developed for JRE 6 Update 7. We can guarantee full functionality and support with this version exclusively.

  • How do I proceed if I have a Java version that is higher than JRE 6 Update 7?

    You can easily un-install the program via the control panel of your operating system. It is not necessary to re-start your computer. You should however contact your IT department or system administrator in advance.

  • Which DNS names and IP addresses need to be enabled in any firewalls?

  • Which port is used for communication?

    Port 443 (SSL)

  • Can any problems arise if anti-virus software is in use?

    We are not aware of any such problems.

  • Which file types can be downloaded?

    • exe: The Java Runtime Environment 6 (Update 7 must be downloaded and installed manually.)
    • Jar: Java files for the application
    • dat: core data files
  • In which local client directory are the application files usually stored?

    Documents are stored in the following directory:
    c:\dokumente und einstellungen\benutzername\anwendungsdaten\sun\java\deployment\cache\http\Dwww.railcargo.at\P80\DMLWB

  • Is the applet certified?

    Yes, a certificate notification appears the first time the application is used.

  • Does the application work with the terminal server?

    No, terminal server features are not supported.

  • Which web browsers can be used?

    Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome

  • Which Java Runtime Environment needs to be installed?

    The application was developed for JRE Version 7 Update 21 (PlugIn 1.7.0_21). We can guarantee full functionality and support with this version exclusively.

    The e-frachtbrief@ has also functioned with newer versions up to now. We cannot guarantee full functionality in this case, however!

  • Where can I find and download Java on the internet?

  • Which IP addresses / DNS names need to be enabled in any firewalls?

  • Which ports are used for communication?

  • Can any problems arise if anti-virus software is in use?

    We are not aware of any such problems!

    You can use the application on a terminal server. However, we cannot offer any support services for this since the required infrastructure can differ in complexity and from customer to customer.

  • Is a framework used for the Java platform?

    Yes, a spring framework is used.

  • What should be taken into consideration when using a spring framework?

    The program searches for any available updates to the spring framework. If so, program components are downloaded from this external framework. This is why it is necessary to configure any existing firewalls accordingly!
