Joint Venture sealed for TransANT manufacture

The Rail Cargo Group and voestalpine sign the contract to become a joint project company and put TransANT into action.

Each partner has a 50% stake in this project company, and the goal is to bundle the activities of both corporations starting with a preparatory phase for planning, project management and establishing contacts with potential customers of the innovative freight wagon concept they created together. The signature on the Joint Venture formalises the partnership and heralds in the planning of construction, pilot production and transition to serial production.

From paper to rail

Work has been going on to manufacture the TransANT range since its product launch in autumn 2018. It did not take long before the first prototypes were sent to customers for test runs thanks to the bundled expert knowledge of the ÖBB, voestalpine and voestalpine’s logistics subsidiary Logserv. The first 60 freight wagons from the TransANT product range have been successfully and efficiently transporting domestic ore for voestalpine since autumn 2019.

The wagon innovation TransANT

This innovative, lightweight platform wagon created by the two companies not only sets new standards in the rail logistics industry in terms of flexibility and modularity, it also sets a new benchmark on the freight transport market. TransANT opens up a new world of rail logistics for customers. Its modular platform concept makes it possible to load greater volumes and also makes it a flexible superstructure that can be customised to meet every individual logistics requirement.
