Salzburg wants to shift more goods to rail

In order to shift more freight to rail the state of Salzburg will in future support companies with active industrial sidings, companies in the reactivation of existing industrial sidings and companies in single wagon transport. This will not only relieve residents and roads, but above all the environment.

Support for industrial sidings and single wagons

In order to shift more freight to the sustainable rail, companies receive up to 200 euros in subsidies from the state for each wagon in single wagon transport, up to a maximum of 25,000 euros or 125 single wagons per company and year. In order to ensure that the existing infrastructure is also used, companies can receive subsidies of up to 50 percent of the costs incurred for the repair and recommissioning of industrial sidings.

In total, the state of Salzburg is providing around two million euros for the freight transport offensive until 2021. The funding has been in effect since 05.08.2020 and will initially last until 31.12.2021. Applications for funding should be addressed to the State of Salzburg.
