Bettina Castillo new member of the RCG Board of Directors

Since 1 January 2024

Bettina Castillo from Salzburg has been a new member of the Board of Directors of ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) since 1 January 2024. The business administration graduate succeeds Imre Kovács, who will continue to work for ÖBB as CEO of Rail Cargo Hungaria and Senior Advisor for Eastern and South Eastern Europe.

Logistics specialist with many years of experience

Bettina Castillo has 15 years of professional experience in global logistics management and was most recently Head of Global Supply Operations Management, responsible for the development and optimisation of goods flows at IKEA. Her professional career began in academia, first at the Institute for Production and Logistics Management at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, then at the Kühne Institute for Logistics Management at the University of St. Gallen in research, consulting and teaching on logistics network planning and combined transport. From 2009 to 2015 she was active in various management roles at SBB Cargo und SBB Cargo International, becoming a member of the management team as well as the safety manager covering transport across Europe. 

Production and Maintenance

Bettina Castillo has been responsible for production and maintenance at the RCG since the beginning of the year. “I’m looking forward to this new challenge in the rail industry and to working with RCG's large international team to drive forward the Group's ambitious growth strategy and international production.”
