German Design Award for ‘Freight Forest’

When sustainability and design go hand in hand, it deserves recognition. The RCG is setting new benchmarks when it comes to trade fair presentations and was recognised with the German Design Award 2024 in the ‘Excellent Architecture – Fair and Exhibition’ category. The RCG presented its innovative and sustainable ‘Freight Forest’ stand design at transport logistic in Munich from 9 to 12 May 2023, underlining its role as the sustainable logistics backbone of the European economy.

Strong presence – strong message

When attending the world’s most important logistics trade fair, it is important not just to have a presence, but also to impress with an innovative concept. The ‘Freight Forest’ exhibition stand did just that: adorned with trees and shrubs that symbolised the sustainability of rail as the most environmentally friendly mode of transport, visitors found themselves in a green oasis – a place to unwind.

The equipment used at the trade fair also included logistics accessories that RCG has been relying on for years and will continue to use after the trade fair, including containers, pallets, stillages, tension belts and much more. Unlike other exhibition stands, none of it was thrown away at the end. Brochures and flyers were only available in electronic form and the buffet was vegetarian throughout. All of these measures came together to send a clear message: RCG is making a sustainable contribution – even beyond its core logistics expertise.

Sustainability meets design

Winning the German Design Award confirms that this core message has been understood and underscores the RCG’s commitment to continuing to promote rail as the most sustainable solution in logistics.
