New: TransFER Budapest–Zeebrugge

With the BILK terminal, Budapest acts as a central gateway to South-Eastern Europe – it is one of the most important hubs for rail freight transport in Central Europe and connects Eastern Europe with Western markets. It offers extensive capacity and modern infrastructure for handling container traffic. 
Zeebrugge is one of the most important seaports in Belgium and plays a key role in intermodal transport. The port has numerous shipping connections and its strategic location enables fast and efficient transhipment of goods by sea. 

Benefits of the new TransFER connection

The TransFER Budapest–Zeebrugge offers customers many benefits. Key features include attractive transit times, achieved through a direct A-C connection and three round trips per week (starting in week 43 with one round trip). This ensures a high degree of flexibility and planning capability. All craneable loading units can be transported, including 20, 30, 40 and 45-ft containers as well as 25 and 45-ft swap bodies. Furthermore, the safe transport of dangerous goods in accordance with RID guidelines is possible. From the port of Zeebrugge, there are ship connections to Tilbury, Hull, Teesport, London and other major destinations in the UK. The TransFER also offers antenna connections to and from Turkey from BILK.
