TransFER Paskov–Gdansk now with own traction

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is optimising its TransFER between the Czech Republic and the Baltic Sea. Customers benefit from shorter transit times and greater efficiency thanks to 100 % RCG performance.

The non-stop TransFER between Paskov and Gdansk is the only direct connection from the regions of Moravia and Northern Slovakia to one of the most important European ports – the Baltic Sea port of Gdansk. The Paskov site is one of the most important transshipment hubs in Central Europe, from where RCG distributes maritime flows of goods (FCL - Full Container Loads) to destinations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Own traction improves service quality and reliability

By switching to own traction, RCG takes control of the entire transport process, from train provision to arrival at the port of destination and vice versa. This end-to-end logistics solution enables optimised route planning and improved efficiency along the entire route.

The TransFER is operated with two weekly round trips and a transit time of just one day. The ideal corridor parameters provide capacity for heavy containers in particular. Other benefits of this TransFER connection include direct ship connections to the Far East and Scandinavia – with transit times comparable to Hamburg.
