The partnership between Alpacem and RCG has began in 2019 – and has proven to be a true success story. With two sites – in Wietersdorf (Carinthia) and Peggau (Styria) – the company is a reliable partner for the regional construction industry. Every year, several thousand tonnes of clinker and granulated blast-furnace slag are transported multimodally in round trips using the MOBILER system.
More rail. More reach. More future.
In recent years, Alpacem has consistently expanded its rail activities. Together with RCG, the company has succeeded in shifting new transports – even over short distances – to rail. Today, the TransFER Villach–Italy regularly operates single wagonload shipments to Italy as well as from several Austrian supplier locations to Wietersdorf.
Koralm Railway as a key to expanded markets
The new Koralm Railway marks a new chapter for both partners. The connection strengthens existing transport routes while simultaneously creating additional opportunities for new procurement and sales markets. It becomes the “hub” of raw material supply and an important link in the Baltic–Adriatic Corridor, which will increasingly become Alpacem’s core route in the future.
For Alpacem, this means shorter transport times, higher efficiency and new market opportunities. The Koralm Railway is therefore not only an important new connection but also an expansion and reinforcement of the company’s sustainable logistics strategy – and another milestone in the successful partnership with RCG.
