More round trips for TransFER Belgrade–Rijeka

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is responding to growing demand in the Western Balkans by increasing the frequency between Belgrade and Rijeka to two round trips per week. This will make logistics between Serbia and Croatia even more efficient and flexible.

The TransFER Belgrade–Rijeka connects the Nelt container terminal near Belgrade with the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) in Rijeka, Croatia's largest port. This enables RCG to offer shorter transit times, a direct connection to the Serbian rail network and a sustainable alternative to road transport in the Western Balkans.

Even more capacity for intermodal transport

RCG now transports up to 76 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) per train on two round trips per week – an ideal solution for the growing demand for intermodal transport in the region. Both 20ft, 40ft and 45ft containers can be transported by rail in an efficient and climate-friendly manner. The TransFER not only offers significant CO2 savings compared to road transport, but also comprehensive additional services such as the organisation of first and last mile as well as regular status updates. Customers benefit from transparency, predictability and a well thought-out logistics offer that is perfectly tailored to the needs of the region.
