New: TransFER Budapest–Curtici

The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) expands its TransNET with a nonstop connection between Budapest and Curtici – two key logistics hubs linking Western, Central and Southeastern Europe.

Map Budapest-Curtici

With one round trip per week, the TransFER Budapest–Curtici connects the BILK container terminal in Budapest – the most important intermodal hub between Western and Southeastern Europe – with Curtici, the gateway to Romania and further on to the Balkans and Turkey. This new connection creates additional attractive opportunities for intermodal transport in the region and beyond.

Intermodal round trip with potential

The TransFER enables the transport of various loading units – from 20-, 30-, 40- and 45-foot containers to swap bodies and cranable trailers. Dangerous goods (RID) can also be transported safely and efficiently. Depending on demand, the frequency may be increased to two round trips per week.

Seamless within the network

Thanks to the optimal connection to existing connections such as TransFER Budapest–Duisburg, TransFER Budapest–Zeebrugge and TransFER Wels–Vienna–Budapest, customers benefit from continuous transport chains between the economic centers of Western, Central and Southeastern Europe. The result: fewer transshipments, shorter transit times and maximum planning reliability.
