With the TransFER Tuzla–Rijeka, the first intermodal connection of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina is launched, opening new perspectives for the region. The RCG establishes a direct rail link between Tuzla and the Port of Rijeka – a key hub for Southern, Central and South-Eastern Europe and gateway to international markets.
Industrial region with economic significance
Tuzla is the industrial heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The region is characterised by a strong energy sector, a well-developed chemical industry, as well as mining and manufacturing capacities – the backbone of the national economy. For businesses, this means large transport volumes, complex supply chains and a clear need for efficient logistics solutions. This is where rail freight makes the difference: it offers a sustainable alternative to road transport, ensures safe and plannable delivery of large volumes and also reduces CO₂ emissions – a competitive advantage for the industry.
Stable and efficient transport solution
The TransFER Tuzla–Rijeka provides a weekly round trip with a capacity of 76 TEU per train. The service is complemented by port-to-door solutions, enabling direct delivery from the port to the customer, as well as volume consolidation for optimal utilisation and cost benefits. Reduced administrative effort thanks to standardised processes saves time and resources. For customers, this means planning reliability, efficient logistics and a sustainable transport option that secures access to international markets via the Port of Rijeka.
