TransFER Budapest–Belgrade provides a reliable transport solution for freight flows between Hungary and Serbia. Trains are operated entirely using RCG’s own traction and can carry 20-, 30-, 40- and 45-foot containers. The service is also suitable for transporting dangerous goods. Initially, TransFER Budapest–Belgrade will operate one weekly round trip. A second weekly round trip is already being planned. Fixed timetables and competitive transit times provide a high level of planning certainty and help support stable supply chains between Central Europe and the Balkans.
Connected to key European logistics hubs
Via the Budapest hub, the new service is directly integrated into RCG’s extensive TransFER network. Antenna connections are available to and from Sopron, Vienna, Wels and Duisburg. This gives companies access to a seamless rail connection between major industrial and logistics locations across Europe and markets in South-Eastern Europe.
A reliable alternative to road transport
TransFER Budapest–Belgrade offers a reliable alternative to road freight. Shifting freight to rail reduces pressure on the road transport sector and helps address challenges such as the ongoing shortage of truck drivers. It also reduces the risks associated with congestion, weekend driving restrictions and seasonal traffic disruption. Customers therefore benefit from more predictable transport services and more resilient supply chains.
