Closure of Tauern Road Tunnel due to construction work

Safety for people and goods is a top priority for us at Rail Cargo Group. That is why we are also making sure that our customers' goods reach their destination safe and sound during the upcoming closure of the Tauern Road Tunnel.

The infrastructure company ASFINAG will completely close the Tauern Road Tunnel in Salzburg, Austria, from 12 April 2023 to 17 May 2023 due to urgent maintenance work that cannot be postponed. This will affect both ÖBB passenger and freight traffic.

TransFER connections that run through the Tauern Road Tunnel during this period must be re-routed over a wide area. Our logistics professionals have taken all measures in advance to ensure the reliable handling of your transports. However, delays might occur due to the re-routing. We ask for your understanding.
