RCG is expanding its TransNET with a non-stop connection between Germany and Belgium. The TransFER Duisburg–Antwerp offers two round trips per week with a transit time of only about 7.5 hours each way – for both wagonloads and containers. In addition to transport, RCG also offers comprehensive end-to-end logistics solutions. These include the organisation of the first and last mile, handling options, modern warehouse logistics and professional customs clearance. The TransFER is also suitable for the transport of dangerous goods (RID).
Central hubs for rail freight
Duisburg and Antwerp play an important role in European rail freight transport. Duisburg is the world’s largest inland port and, as a central transport hub in the Ruhr region, an important junction for transport logistics within Germany and Europe. Antwerp, on the other hand, is one of Europe’s most important seaports and a gateway to international markets. The port links Europe with overseas markets and is a central transhipment point for flows of goods between Northern and Western Europe and beyond. By connecting the extensive industrial area of the Rhine-Ruhr region with the industrial sites in the Antwerp area, RCG offers seamless transport to and from Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Italy and the entire Southern and Southeastern European region.
More seamless connections and additional round trips in TransNET
The TransFER Duisburg–Antwerp also provides a seamless connection to the existing TransFER Linz–Scandinavia–Wels, as volumes can be loaded from Duisburg/Rheinkamp to Malmö. In this way, RCG ensures a continuous logistics chain all the way to Northern Europe, as departure and arrival times are precisely coordinated. Parallel to the introduction of the new TransFER connection, the existing TransFER Linz–Duisburg–Wels will be expanded by two additional round trips per week to a total of eight round trips. This will make it possible to better meet the increasing volume requirements and customer needs.
