CDP rating: B score achieved for the fourth year in a row

The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has once again achieved a “B” rating in renowned CDP rating, placing the company above the global average in several climate protection categories.

CDP Rating 2025

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is one of the world’s most respected environmental rating systems. The international non-profit organisation assesses companies, cities, regions and countries based on their environmental transparency and climate action. Around 22,000 companies worldwide have taken part in the comprehensive CDP assessment. RCG has once again submitted its climate-related data, achieving a consistently strong result.

B rating confirmed despite increasing requirements

Despite increasingly stringent assessment criteria and greater depth of evaluation, RCG has achieved a B rating for the fourth consecutive year. This corresponds to the industry average, with clearly above-average results in seven climate protection categories. Particularly strong performance was recorded in the areas of Environmental Policies, Dependencies, Impacts, Risks and Opportunities Process, Verification, and Risk Disclosure. The result underlines RCG’s structured, transparent and consistent approach to managing environmental and climate-related topics.

Strengthening sustainable rail freight transport

As one of Europe’s leading rail logistics providers, Rail Cargo Group helps shape the industry 365 days a year – 24 hours a day. Together with other leading European rail freight companies, RCG is committed to shifting 30% of freight volumes to environmentally friendly rail transport by 2030, thereby making a significant contribution to strengthening sustainable freight transport. The renewed B rating confirms this course and demonstrates that RCG continues to deliver stable climate performance even as requirements increase.
