Shipping Line-Related Restrictions on Shipments to the Middle East

The current developments and increased security risks in the Middle East are also impacting global logistics flows, particularly international maritime transport.

In this context, shipping lines have announced restrictions on cargo destined for countries with elevated security risks. These requirements affect shipments via Southern European ports, including Trieste, Koper and Rijeka.

Therefore, ÖBB Rail Cargo Group asks its customers to confirm in advance with the respective shipping line that export cargo will be accepted and onward transportation by sea is ensured before dispatching shipments to affected countries via these ports.

This is intended to ensure that shipments are only sent once acceptance and onward carriage by sea have been confirmed.
