Storm "Zoltan" leads to cancellations in rail traffic

During the night of Friday, storm "Zoltan" caused severe damage in parts of Austria and Germany. Rail services were also severely affected.

Shortly before Christmas, a severe storm swept across Germany and Austria. The north and centre of Germany were particularly hard hit by the effects of storm "Zoltan". There are currently considerable delays in rail freight transport here. Although the peak of the storm has now passed, delays and train cancellations are still to be expected.

Main connections in Austria open

The storm has also left its mark in Austria with gusts of up to 116 km/h. There are currently restrictions in regional transport in particular. However, the main railway lines are currently open.

We are endeavouring to keep the impact on your transports as low as possible. For detailed information on the resulting delays, please contact your customer advisor at any time.
