This was the Open Day at Metadynea Industrial Park

Despite unsettled autumn weather, more than 1,000 visitors came to the site to take a look behind the scenes.

The Metadynea Industrial Park in Krems, one of the largest industrial sites in Lower Austria, opened its doors for one day. Especially young people – the employees of tomorrow – took the opportunity together with their teachers to get an idea of the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) and the other companies involved.

Opportunity for direct exchange with RCG apprentices

ÖBB currently trains more than 2,000 apprentices in 27 technical and commercial apprenticeships – at RCG, apprentices can, among other things, start an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent. As a co-organiser, RCG presented details about the apprenticeship at the Open Day and offered the students a direct exchange with RCG apprentices. There was also the opportunity to see a Vectron electric locomotive and a test drive with a Herkules 2016 locomotive was a big hit.

From October onwards, those interested will again have the opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent at the RCG.
