TransFER news for continental flows of goods

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) optimises its TransNET for intermodal TransFER connections. The changes at a glance.

RCG connects the European economic regions between Europe and Asia with high-frequency, long-distance connections with optimised transit times. Thanks to combined transport and customer-specific loading units, RCG puts continental, intermodal transport on sustainable rail without lengthy transhipment processes.

New: TransFER Vienna–Verona

TransFER Vienna–Milan becomes TransFER Vienna–Verona – RCG offers the regular transport of containers between 20 and 45 feet and swap bodies between 25 and 45 feet between the Sommacampagna-Sona terminal near Verona and the Vienna South CCT terminal. Customers benefit from end-to-end, cross-border processing from a single source and shorter transport times.

Round trip increase: TransFER Duisburg–Villach–Ljubljana

This TransFER connects Slovenia with Germany via Villach and enables sustainable rail freight with short transit times. The round trip increase from four to five per week contributes to further efficiency in the transport of containers and swap bodies between 20 and 45 feet as well as cranable trailers.

Containers between 20 and 45 feet, swap bodies between 25 and 45 feet and trailers – both cranable and non-cranable – are transported.
