Poland is the second largest rail freight market after Germany with about 234 million tonnes, approx. 54 billion tonne kilometers (in 2017) and offers great growth potential for the Rail Cargo Group. In addition, Poland is linked to two important freight transport corridors. From the Adriatic to the Baltic Sea as well as within Poland itself, Poland is also playing an increasingly important role in transport services to and from China. With our own Carrier in Poland, we are now bridging the gap on Rail Freight Corridor 8 for transport from the North Sea ports to Poland, Russia and far beyond into Asia. In addition, we guarantee links from Polish industrial centres to the Adriatic ports and southern Europe via Freight Corridor 5. With now a total of twelve countries where we provide our own traction services and the associated dense carrier network in Europe, we ensure maximum quality of transport along the entire logistics and transport chain.
