Romanian oil and gas group converted to e-frachtbrief@

Digitization is a key driver when it comes to making processes more efficient and thus improving service quality. OMV Petrom is therefore the first Romanian customer to rely on the electronic bill of lading and now simply creates its own bills of lading in the system.

OMV Petrom is the largest energy company in Southern and Eastern Europe. The Romanian oil and gas company supplies the energy for daily life: Fuel for mobility as well as light and heat. A seamless supply security for industry and refineries is a basic prerequisite for this, which provides for well-coordinated logistics processes. As one of the leading European rail logistics companies, we handle part of the logistics for the Romanian energy giant. Every year we transport approx. 85,000 tonnes of propylene from Brazi, Romania to Burghausen, an OMV refinery site in Germany. In order to be able to handle the international transports even more efficiently and quickly, especially at the national borders, our Romanian customer has now been converted to electronic consignment note processing. OMV Petrom is the first e-frachtbrief@ user in Romania. The spirit of innovation and the development of intelligent technologies are not only important to us, but also to the Romanian energy group. After all, digitalisation is a tactical tool for market development in all industries. The changeover has not only improved the quality of services and logistics processes, it has also made them much more efficient.

Customer benefits from efficient processing

What are the advantages of the gas giant? Many. Previously, the consignment note for wagon consignments had to be created manually in the company's own customer system, printed out and sent with the transport documents. Only at the Romanian-Hungarian border were the order data created in the e-frachtbrief@ - the RCG application for the electronic recording of consignment notes. Recently, the customer has started creating transport orders directly in the RCG system. The result is that the customer always has an overview of the processing status of the order, the transport order is already fully recorded at the dispatch station and thus a more efficient processing at the national border can be ensured.
