RCG’s Big Review of the Year
We will remember 2024 for a long time to come. After all, who could forget the flood of the century? But just as memorable was how we dealt with the aftermath of the crisis.
More than ever, we saw what makes us #TeamRCG. We felt a basic trust that we share with our customers and partners. Especially when the going gets tough.
Before we finally tick off the year, let's take another look back and see: 2024 also brought a lot of good things. Let's remind ourselves.

A network that connects …
Our TransNET links the most important ports with the economic and industrial centres on the Eurasian continent. In 2024, it proved its resilience and made a decisive contribution to the security of supply.
… and brings us even closer together
In 2024, we launched twelve new TransFER connections. This makes our close-knit transport network in Europe better, more flexible and more versatile.
What would the best network be without great customers?
From customised equipment to individual complete solutions: we go the extra mile for the success of our customers. Two flagship projects that we are particularly proud of this year.
Salt on rails
The corrosive properties of salt are very hard on wagon materials. That is why we have developed a particularly resistant wagon together with Donau Chemie. Not only can it be used for much longer, but it also brings all the salt that was previously transported by road to the plant in Brückl.
Waste meets multimodal
The partnership between FCC Austria and RCG goes back 20 years. We transport more than 70,000 tonnes of waste a year for the waste management company as part of an efficient end-to-end logistics solution in which the main leg is carried out by rail and the first and last mile flexibly by truck. This saves around 400 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Strong voices
The best proof that we are doing our job? The authentic statements of our customers. Four selected quotes that encourage us to do what we do best: finding sustainable logistics solutions to industry challenges.
Good work is rewarded
The best example? Our boss, who was voted Logistics Manager of the Year this year. But we also won as RCG in 2024. Four awards that we are really proud of and that show that we have struck a chord with our sustainable trade fair design, our cooperation with Transporeon and our performance in Hungary.
On the logistics stages of the world
Istanbul, Warsaw, Rimini or Shanghai: as a leading rail logistics provider, we inspire customers worldwide with sustainable rail freight transport. Vienna was represented twice this year: at the legendary RCG Summer Party and at the Transporeon Summit in the Hofburg.

By train to the mountain
The TransFER Erzberg, a special RCG transport service, took the riders and their equipment from Düsseldorf to the legendary Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in Eisenerz. The premiere was a complete success and we will be back again in 2025.
What a team!
With traction companies in 14 European countries and our presence in 18 countries, we are thinking of international logistics from the ground up and challenging the status quo. Our drive? The Railcore spirit with which we make the difference day after day.
Welkom bij het team!
That is Dutch for “Welcome to the team”. Our new colleagues have been at work since May, and our carrier subsidiary already handled its first international train in the land of tulips in September.
Second subsidiary
Last year, we founded a carrier company in Serbia, followed by the forwarding company this year. In a joint venture with Serbia's second-largest forwarding company, we are tapping into a market with great potential.
TransFLEX – When things have to move faster
The German flagship project complements our regular TransFER connections with a flexible and fairly fixed ad-hoc solution, which is particularly appreciated by our customers in the chemical and mineral oil industries.

Since this year in review is a round thing, we are ending the year the way we started it: with a ride on the “Glögglwaggon” – specially designed for the Capital of Culture Bad Ischl. There is something very soothing about the sound of its 40 bells, which is wonderfully suited to the festive season in December and looks optimistically to 2025. Listen in!
